1) Do I need to pass the Identity Verification process?
Please be aware that it is essential for your account safety to pass the Identity Verification process.
At the same time, for a verified account, the limitation of total withdrawal is 50 BTC per 24h. For a non-verified account, the limitation of total withdrawal is 2 BTC per 24h.
2) Why I didn’t pass the Identity Verification process?
The specific reason why you didn't pass the Identity Verification process will be shown in the "Verification" subpage after logging in your account.
You may fail the verification because of the following reasons:
Identity proof part:
- The name you entered doesn't match your ID document.
- The date of birth you entered doesn't match your ID document.
- The gender you chose doesn't match your ID document.
- The nationality/country you chose doesn't match your ID document.
- The passport/ID number you entered doesn’t match your ID document.
- The passport/ID expiration date you entered doesn't match your ID document.
Selfie part:
- The photo of your handheld ID document doesn't match the ID document you uploaded before.
- The face shown on the ID document photo is inconsistent with the one shown on the "Selfie with Passport/ID and Note" photo.
- The "Selfie with Passport/ID and Note" photo does not include a note that specifies the following information: "OceanEx", application date and your signature.
- The time gap between the application date shown on the "Selfie with Passport/ID and Note" photo and the Identity Verification submitting date is more than 1 day.
- The signature on the "Selfie with Passport/ID and Note" photo doesn't match your ID document.
Your Proof of Residence is not in English, Please provide us with an English translated copy.
Residence proof part:
- Your Proof of Residence is not clearly visible.
- The residence document should not be the same as the ID document.
- We do not accept the following types of document as Proof of Residence: duplicate bank statement, purchase receipt or invoice of any type, medical invoice, tenancy agreement/rental contract, letters from employers.
- You didn't provide the driver license with both sides.
- Your Proof of Residence is expired:
1. The driver license is expired before the submission date.
2. The tax bill is 1 year older than the submission date.
3. The date in your Proof of Residence document is older than 90 days. - The name on the residence document doesn't match your ID document.
- The address you entered doesn't match your residence document.
After signing into your account, find the "Verification" tab on the upper left corner of your screen. Then, click on “Verification” to check the detailed reason why you failed the Identity Verification. Please update to the correct information and resubmit your verification request again.
3) What types of materials are eligible for Proof of Residence?
You could use the following materials to pass the Proof of Residence:
- Household utility bill (water, gas, fixed-line telephone, internet...) is no older than 90 days.
- Current driver license in which the submission date is before the expiration date (both sides must be needed).
- Bank, building society or credit card statement no older than 90 days.
- The local authority tax bill is no older than 1 year.
- Other certified statements from a Notary (except duplicate bank statement, purchase receipt or invoice of any type, medical invoice, tenancy agreement/rental contract, letters from employers) no older than 90 days.
