Why do I need to complete Identity Verification?
OceanEx requires users to complete Identity Verification or Know Your Customer(KYC) to increase their account security. You can enjoy a higher limit of your account after verifying.
Which method can I use to get my account verified?
OceanEx only supports completing Identity Verification from a web browser, not from the OceanEx APP.
How to complete Identity Verification?
Step 1: Navigate to The Verification Form
Log in to your account, position your mouse over the User tab in the top toolbar and click "Identity Verification".
Step 2: Fill in The Verification Form
(1) Choose your Nationality.
(2) Enter your legal name (First Name/Given Name and Last Name/Surname) with the Roman alphabet.
(3) Enter your Gender and Date of Birth.
(4) Choose the ID Document Type: Passport (preferred) or government issued photo ID.
(5) Enter your Passport/ID Card Number and the Expiration Date.
Please make sure that all the information entered is correct. You will not be able to change it once confirmed.
Step 3: ID Document Related Photos Upload
1. If you choose passport to be your Document Type, you will need to provide the following 2 pictures:
(1) Picture 1: Passport Bio Page clearly shows your personal information and your face.
(2) Picture 2: Selfie of you holding your Passport Bio page and a Note. The note must contain the word “OceanEx”, the application date and your signature. Please ensure your face and all the text are clearly visible.
Note: The image must be in JPG/JPEG/PNG format, and no larger than 5M.
2. If you choose a government issued photo ID to be your Document Type, the ID card must contain your full legal name, photo, date of birth, issued government/country and expiration date. And you will need to provide the following 3 pictures:
(1) Picture 1: ID Card Front Page
(2) Picture 2: ID Card Back Page
(3) Picture 3: Selfie of you holding your ID card front page and a Note. The note must contain the word “OceanEx”, the application date and your signature. Please ensure your face and all the text are clearly visible.
Note: The image must be in JPG/JPEG/PNG format, and no larger than 5M.
Step 4: Fill in The Residential Address Form
(1) Choose your Country.
(2) Enter City/Town and your Address with Roman alphabet.
(3) Enter Postal/Zip Code (or NA if Not Applicable).
Step 5: Proof of Residence Upload
Upload Proof of Residence such as:
- Household utility bill (water, gas, fixed-line telephone, internet...) no older than 90 days.
- Current driver license in which the submission date is before the expiration date (both front and back pages are needed).
- Bank, building society or credit card statement no older than 90 days.
- Local authority tax bill no older than 1 year.
- Other certified statements from a Notary (except: duplicate bank statement, purchase receipt or invoice of any type, medical invoice, tenancy agreement/rental contract, letters from employers) no older than 90 days.
The document (with header) should clearly indicate your name and residential address. All documents you provide must be in English, otherwise an English translated copy should be attached.
Note: The image must be in JPG/JPEG/PNG/PDF format, and no larger than 10M.
Furthermore, please make sure the documents you submitted meet the following requirements:
- All photographs must be clear and in high resolution, with all information clearly visible.
- All photographs and documents must not be edited or distorted.
- The documents presented must be original (not photocopies).
- The ID must be valid (for example, passports that have expired will not be accepted).
- Your face must be clearly visible.
Step 6: Wait for Confirmation
After fill out all the information above, please tick the check box and then click on "SUBMIT":
* The Identity Verification usually takes 1-3 days. Please wait patiently. Once your application has been verified, you will be notified.
